Entering the World of Developmental Book Editing
In which I announce my new business - The Writing Prof Editorial Services
And my path leads me here, to my work helping writers tell engaging stories their way, with their words, with a little help.
I spent 34 years in higher education, most of those teaching English.
For the past year, I have undertaken an extensive certification education program in developmental editing for fiction at ClubEdFreelancers.com. Combined with my years of teaching and working in university communications positions, I am excited to announce my new business: The Writing Prof Editorial Services.
I offer Editing (book-length literary fiction, memoir, short stories, and narrative nonfiction), Writing Coaching, and Writing services (Ghostwriting, Book Doctoring, and Coauthoring).
In addition, this week is the AWP conference, the Association of Writers and Writing Programs, one of the largest conferences of its kind with an estimated 12,000 attendees. It will definitely be a networking event for me.
This will be a year of to put on the map for my writing life. I will continue to query my memoir, My Own Private Waste Land as well as launch my editing business. In addition, I have several new writing projects in the works.
If you have any needs for editing with an experienced editor, please take a look at The Writing Prof Editorial Services. As I get started, I’ll be offering specials and discounts for some services.
Exciting times ahead. Thank you for reading. I am still building audience for my memoir. If you can sigh up for a subscription (the price of a cup of coffee per month!) or opt for the free option, that will get me closer to my goal of building audience to support traditional publication. You can also give a gift subscription to friends and loved ones.
Have a great week, everyone. I’ll see you for more memoir fun next week.
Until then, I’ll . . .
Just keep writing!
