About My Own Private Waste Land

Hello. I am Lee G. Hornbrook, writer, former college writing professor, editor of The Writing Prof on Medium, author of the memoir, My Own Private Waste Land.

From October 31, 2018 to January 14, 2022, I wrote a memoir, deeply indebted to T. S. Eliot’s epic poem The Waste Land. It’s a story of loss, betrayal, mental illness, family estrangement, and abuse. It’s also a story of resilience and hope.
